Queen’s Park opened their First Division campaign with a fine 3-1 victory over Airdrieonians at Broomfield Park. Dougie McLelland, Mac Dodds and George Patterson were on target.

Today’s opponents Arbroath did not fare quite so well - the Red Lichties lost 6-1 at St Johnstone in the Second Division.
